MMB, the organizer of Mister Brazil; UOL, the main media partner of Mr Brazil pageant; and Portobello Resort & Safari, place and sponsor of the event, decided to postpone the contest, which originally occurred on 22 September, to April 2013. The main reasons for the postponement are the municipal elections, which would affect the media coverage and broadcasting by UOL, and also the possibility of transmission on television.
More than 30 candidates, representatives of 27 states and several Brazilian islands, will come to Rio de Janeiro on March 31. Then, they will be brought to the spectacular Portobello Resort & Safari in Mangaratiba (RJ), one of the best hotels on the famous Costa Verde where they will spend unforgettable days and full of activities and competitions.
The winner will represent Brazil in Mister World 2013 or Manhunt International 2013. Some former contestants and winner sich as Jonas Sulzbach, Lucas Malvacini, Lucas Gil, Rodrigo Gomes, César Curti, Isaq Fioravante, Alan Bianco, Marlon di Gregori will attend the event.
