Days before leaving Mister International Competition in Jakarta, Gil Wagas spent his precious time sharing his blessings with the less fortunate. Gil made the resident of Hospicio de San Jose extra special when he personally handed them donations that include gifts, food, school supplies, toys, clothes and even cash donations together with the officers of PEPPs Foundations – Prime Events Productions Philippines last Tuesday.
Instead of having just a normal send off, Gil initiated to have an extra special event that will be a good starting point of his journey to Jakarta, Indonesia. After of series of brainstorming with PEPPs Foundations and GNP, everyone decided to make Hospicio de San Jose as the major beneficiary because of its countless unforgettable stories and its good track record as the oldest social welfare agency in the country.
Established in October 1778, Hospicio de San José is a Catholic welfare institution in the Philippines. It is the first social welfare agency in the Philippines and has been a home to orphans, abandoned and special children, and elderly.
“Spending time with these amazing people and touching their lives is a fulfillment for me. I was very touched and overwhelmed with their warm welcome, they accepted me with open arms and genuine smile” averred Wagas.
Gil enjoyed sharing stories with the elderly and the kids. He even played with the kids and shared laughter with them.
In return, Hospicio de san Jose residents gave Gil a very warm and genuine send off by giving him inspiring messages and unforgettable hugs and kisses.
PEPPs Foundation – the producer of Mister International Philippines 2013 is very positive that Gil will bring home the honor and will duplicate or surpass the performance of his predecessors. The 8th annual Mister International will be held on November 10-21 in Jakarta and Yogyakarta, Indonesia.
