EXCITING! That word describes our feeling perfectly to see the new faces of the next Puteri Indonesia 2014. Held on January 19th in Sahid Jaya Hotel Jakarta, 38 beautiful women from 33 provinces in Indonesia were introduced to the public officially by Yayasan Puteri Indonesia (Puteri Indonesia Organization). After made it to the Top 15 Miss Universe 2013 for the second time, Indonesian expects more quality for the successor of Whulandary Herman (Puteri Indonesia 2013) so they will be able to continue their victory in international pageants.
2013 was a brilliant year for Indonesia in international pageants. Whulandary Herman, known as a Indonesian supermodel before joining the pageant, brings the big hope to the public after 8 years failed to make a cut in Miss Universe pageant (the last one were 2005, when Artika Sari Devi made their country proud by joining Semifinalist line for the 1st time). Not only one achievement, this Padang origin girl also won 3rd best national costume and 2nd best national auction. When Puteri Indonesia 2nd Runner Up, Cok Istri Krisnanda, made a surprise by carving her name as 3rd Runner Up Miss Supranational (Cok Istri is the 1st Indonesian who sent to Miss Supranational). Well, so we see the reason why this 18th edition of Puteri Indonesia is exciting, don’t we?

The theme of Puteri Indonesia 2014 is “Pesona Sumatera (The Charm of Sumatera)”. Based on the theme, beautiful wardrobes will be presented by Indonesian top designers.

The final night of Puteri Indonesia will be held in Plenary Hall, Jakarta Convention Center on January 29th and will be telecasted live through Indosiar channel and website streaming. Whulandary Herman and Gabriella Isler (Miss Universe 2013) are planned to crown the new Puteri Indonesia.
